ABOUT THE 2021 SPIO Global Scholarships
We are awarding three $5,000 USD scholarships to Pacific Islander scholars living anywhere in the world who show exemplary community leadership, academic excellence, and/or extracurricular excellence. Scholarships are disbursed directly to the winner’s institution of higher education.

Scholarships Open: May 15, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time)
Scholarship Deadline: July 15, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time)
Winners Announced: August 2021
Scholarships Disbursed: August-September 2021
SPIO ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP: $5,000
The SPIO Academic Scholarship will award one (1) student $5,000 for their academic excellence.
Eligibility
Be a current or pending SPIO Network member (free to join)
Plan to attend an accredited institution of higher education during the 2021-22 academic year
Required Application Material
High school and/or college transcripts.
Essay 1: Tell us about your Pacific Islander identity. (Up to 500 words)
Essay 2: Tell us about your academic aspirations. (Up to 500 words)
Two Letters of Recommendation (can’t be from family members or friends)
SPIO EXTRA-CURRICULAR SCHOLARSHIP: $5,000
The SPIO Extra-curricular Scholarship will award one (1) student $5,000 for their extracurricular excellence.
Eligibility
Be a current or pending SPIO Network member (free to join)
Plan to attend an accredited institution of higher education during the 2021-22 academic year

SPIO COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP: $5,000
The Community Leadership Scholarship will award one (1) student $5,000 for their community leadership excellence.
Eligibility
Be a current or pending SPIO Network member (free to join)
Plan to attend an accredited institution of higher education during the 2021-22 academic year
